Virtual Reality vs. Reality

Video games push the envelope in realistic racing and customizing!
By Kevin Hertzog

In this new day and age of customizing, car selections, auto racing, street racing, and cranking up your blood pressure hauling ass in your ride, moderan day video games push the envelope in realism! We all know for some of you who, are still in the stone age with pong, the original Nintendo, and even Atari, don't realize how much the video gamer's world has grown over the years to catch up customizing and racing fans around the globe!

Several game designers such as Atari, EA Sports, THQ, and several other's have spent years and millions designing video games for those true hardcore racing and custom car fans, such as myself! From street racers, hauling ass down major traffic streets, winning the Benjamins to buy and design a better and faster ride (Need for Speed Underground 1 & 2) to custom tricked out rides that turn eyes, the sky is the limit. That game kicks ass, not only can you choose from various car manufacturers, but you can also modify SUV's to compete for the streets as well!

Oh, but what about NASCAR fans? Don't fret because the gaming companies have also included your midset as well! Several NASCAR games have been designed over the years and each one gets better and better! Most of us car/truck fans would spend hours on end just playing those video games seeing those points rank up on your TV screen for the best performance in the race, best lap, best out-run, etc. It doesn't get any better than that! Or, does it???

Maybe you would prefer to drop that controller, shut off that XBOX or PS2 and grab those keys to your tricked out ride and feel the real rush of pushing your ride to the limits! Gaming can be a sustitute to such fun, yet illegal actions (which we do not endorse here at ESM). In the gaming world, anyone can become a racer!

So, that's the biggest question in all of our minds, do we race, push our ride to its limits, and modify that ride to make even the video game audenice drool over your ride! Or do we modify a tangible ride, so that we actually can test the patience of the real police (who are unforgiving in some areas)?

So, that's the question, do we play with video games to satisfy that insatiable custom/racing person inside of us, or do we take it to the real asphault?

Until next time... keep on Kruisin'!
