Elite Streets Magazine Presents - Fast Eddy's Hot Rod Art!

Ed White (a.k.a. Fast Eddy), is a regular feature here at Elite Streets Magazine and he always seems to impress us with his radical renderings. Ed always uses an array of crazy options, wild wheels, and colorful paint concepts that wow even the biggest names in the industry. The 4-1-1 on the Ed is that he has been drawing for as long as he can remember. Ed once told ESM that he can't remember a time when he wasn't doodling some sort of picture on a former tree. Needless to say, all of that doodling over the years paid off and now Fast Eddy is one of the most well known concept auto artists around. Ed really knows his stuff especially when it comes to objects that are engine powered!

As always, we were impressed with Ed's latest artistic renderings and we encourage our readers to contact Ed and give him the thumbs up, otherwise Ed might forget to submit some of his work to ESM! Also, if you are in the middle of a project or just starting one, Ed can help you make your dreams a reality by laying it out on paper long before you start bangin' away at body panels and turning those wrenches. All you have to do is dial: 281.455.2883. Ed is Texas friendly and just like the state in which he resides, has big ideas. Also, keep in mind that Ed can paint the real deal, too! If you want a wicked paint job on your ride, Ed can get the party started for you, provided you have enough greenbacks to cover his time spent.

NYRP 1934 Ford Electric Pickup

This 1934 Ford Pickup is actually an ALL electric vehicle (no hybrid here) that was a promotional and conceptual idea to promote Bette Midler's N.Y.R.P. (New York Restoration Project) which is a non-profit organization that restores, develops, and revitalizes under served parks, community gardens, and other open spaces in New York City. The tires are actually motorcycle tires on 18/20-inch floral design rims. The theme of the whole vehicle is floral and "green" so the paint has a thorny stripe separating the green and silver two-tone, the door panels have roses on them and the shifter is cast aluminum with a lighted rose "knob." Ed designed new headlight pedestals with the turn signals integrated within and the taillights are motorcycle pieces, too.

2004 Ram Wagon

Ed has a 2004 Ram four door and one day he thought how cool it would be if it were a 2004 Ram Wagon. So, Ed drew his Ram, then he worked it into a wagon. Ed's initial intent was to use the exact same platform and make it a two door, but it looked too weird (7-foot long doors isn't too appealing!). So, Ed did a four door instead. The doors are stretched, the fronts by 2½-inches, the rear ones by 7-inches (totaling 9½ inches of additional door opening). To establish the ride height, the whole truck was dropped 12-inches over 20-inch wheels and as a result, the front wheel opening was raised 2-inches (remember, this is a wagon, not a SUV). The rear end is covered with a one piece urethane rear bumper that hides a hitch receiver behind the license plate. The fuel door has been moved to the upper quarter and replaced with an early Charger flip up gas cap and the rear glass rolls down into the tailgate. The taillights are LEDs and to separate this a little more from the truck line, the front bumper is peaked just enough to put in a Cadillac crease (like the faint crease in a Cadillac hood).

1970 Chevy Pickup

This 1970 Chevy Pickup is being built by Fast Eddy's Hot Rod Art for/with his sons (have we mentioned how awesome of a dad Ed is?). It is a longbed and an automatic. Ed is ok with auto trans as long as someone else owns them, anyway this rig will soon belong to his youngest son, so he got to pick the colors. He said green and black, so Ed put this quick rendering together. Ed is going "muscle truck" all the way, so the hood and taillight area are blacked out. Then he ran the black over the roof and onto a bed cover that he intends to make. Since all the chrome was stolen from it before Ed got it, he decided that filling in all the holes and airbrushing the chrome on it would be a nice trick effect. The truck will retain a stock appearance around the taillight area, but down the side, it will look like 1963 Impala trim. Ed has no idea what wheels he'll use as it has 6-lug hubs. The grille will be customized, (though Ed hasn't settled on the final look) and Ed will make custom, flush mount taillights. One other thing about this ride, is that Ed is going to see how "show truck worthy" he can make this rig for the least amount of money. So far, the roof and bed sides are ready for paint, add that to the cost of the truck, Ed figures they are up to about $375 (yes, you read that right). ESM will keep our faithful readers posted on the final tally.

2009 Mercedes GLK

This is how Ed would customize the 2009 Mercedes GLK. Ed designed new bumpers and fender flares, smoked the lenses and lowered it. That is a shaker scoop in the middle of the hood and those are chrome heat extractors in the fenders. The roof rack is gone. Throw on some 22-inch Fast Eddy's wheels and two-tone it in tuxedo black and Chevy copper and you have a hot rod Benz. Touché Mr. White!

2008 Cadillac CTS

Ed thought doing a two-door sport version of a Cadillac would be fun. This 2008 Cadillac CTS has the usual big rims and lowering job, but it also has body attitude. The grille is a little larger and "blackened." It sits above a pair of driving lights and between smoked headlights. The new bumper flows into the fender flares and ground effects... ummm... we mean rocker covers and into the new rear bumper which houses the tail pipes and air diffuser. There is also a deck spoiler between the deep tinted taillights. The hood has the cowl scoop/heat extraction treatment and that works in conjunction with the heat vents on the fenders for superior engine efficiency. Get some-- Caddy style that is!
